There’s What in my Personal Care Products??

The EWG says that the average woman uses 12 beauty or skin products a day, that contains over 168 different chemicals!

Think about your normal day - where you shower and get ready for the day. Count all the different products you put on your body. Think of EVERYTHING that goes on your body - shampoo, soaps, make up, lotions, beauty creams, shaving cream, hair product, chapstick, etc.

Since we use at least a handful of them daily, we need to make sure that the things we use are free of several types of chemicals, specifically parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. There are more to watch out for, but reducing or eliminating these is a great place to start! These chemicals can, over years build up, and cause hormone disruption within your body. It won’t be an immediate thing you feel, but over time you could develop brain fog, anxiety, sleeping issues, etc.

It’s not a bad thing if you find these chemicals in your current products, it just means you now have the power to make a different choice when you go to buy more! What I’m saying here is give yourself grace, and embrace the journey!

So go take a look at your product ingredient labels and see what’s in there!
